what is Post-Industrial Recyclate?

"Recyclates" are defined in the German Closed Substance Cycle Waste Management Act (KrWG) as "secondary raw materials that have been obtained through the recovery of waste or are obtained during the disposal of waste and are suitable for the manufacture of products." Post-industrial recyclate (PIR) is produced from post-industrial materials.

Examples: Waste from plastic film extrusion is used in the production of thermoplastic elastomers.
